Win 7 HP x64, "No Internet Access"
Hello all, I'm getting intermittent internet disconnects - local network is OK still - with Win 7 Home Prem x64 (release). I did not have this problem with Vista Home Prem x64, which I upgraded from. Another PC in the house (also Vista) connected to the same router does not have this problem. I have a Realtek network card built onto my motherboard, the mobo being a EVGA X58 SLI LE. The system is about 4 months old and was assembled by Digital Storm. This problem was happening and Windows Update offered a new driver for the Realtek, so I updated, but there's been no change. I disabled IPv6 and uninstalled Bonjour, those haven't helped. My router is an old Netgear MR814v2 with the latest firmware (last update was 2004), so I am replacing that with a new Linksys WRT54G2 that should be here in a day or so. This is extremely frustating. I like Win 7 but I can't use this PC for the internet and gaming if it's going to cut out like this, and the fault seems to be an OS problem.

I have the same exact problem. When ever I browse the internet I get disconnected. I'm on a HP built desktop, with Windows 7 Release 64 bit. Mine also goes "No Internet Access." Windows Update gave me the Realtek drivers also Idownloadedthem, but no change. This does seem to be a problem in the OS itself.

I should clarify, HP = Home Premium in my subject, not Hewlett Packard.
The issue seems to happen across many types of hardware, anyway. :/

One thing to note would be... fresh install of Win 7 or upgrade from Vista. Mine is an upgrade.
I just updated my antivirus/internet security software, too. I was using Norton internet Security 2009, that was installed on Vista (and disabled for the upgrade, but not removed). I'm now on Norton Internet Security 2010. I'm not sure if it will make a difference, but...

Hi all, Could you please help me confirm the following points?1. Doall issue occur on a Upgrade version?2. If possbile, could you please change network location to another type to test this issue? Such as change Public Network to a Home Network or Work Network. Thanks.

I have a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and I have intermittent connections. One thing I have tried in the Local Area Connection Status, under Properties I have disabled Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6). I still have the problem but, not as frequent. I am open for a complete fix if someone has one. Thanks

well
i had the same problem with my laptop..
after that i turned it back to Windows vista
and i geuss a month after that that i figured out what the program was.
the driver(the program for the hardware) of the internet card wasn't up-to-date so it didn't support windows 7 for me..
u should update ur driver manually ore buy/download a program like Driver Genius ore Driver Dokter to update those drivers for u ;)
